This Privacy Notice applies to users of the Joiin platform, including Riders and Drivers, and any other individuals who interact with our services. By using Joiin, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described in this notice.

Joiin complies with the POPIA (South Africa), ensuring the lawful processing, security, and confidentiality of personal information.

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

  • Identity Data: Full name, email address, phone number, and work email for verification.
  • Profile Data: Your profile picture (optional), company details (for employment verification), and ride history.
  • Payment Information: Credit/debit card details, Peach Payments, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or other payment methods used.
  • Driver-Specific Data: Vehicle ownership details, driver's license, insurance information.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: IP address, operating system, device model, and browser type.
  • Location Data: GPS-based location when using the app (for pickup/drop-off points and ride tracking).
  • Usage Data: Clicks, interactions with app features, and preferences.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Identity verification providers (to confirm your employment at a JSE-listed company).
  • Payment processors (to complete transactions securely).
  • Law enforcement or regulatory bodies if required by law.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Joiin processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  1. To Provide Our Services – Enabling ride-matching, payment processing, and customer support.
  2. To Verify Users – Ensuring a safe and professional community.
  3. To Improve Joiin's Platform – Enhancing app performance, fixing bugs, and analyzing trends.
  4. For Safety and Security – Monitoring rides, preventing fraud, and responding to security incidents.
  5. For Legal Compliance – Meeting legal obligations and cooperating with law enforcement.

Joiin does not sell your personal data. However, we may share your information in the following cases:

  • With Other Users: Riders and Drivers see limited details.
  • With Service Providers: Payment processors, hosting providers, and customer support tools.
  • With Law Enforcement: If required by law or necessary for safety investigations.
